Pan African Imagery, Inc., a family owned company, was founded in 1993 by its President, Annie R. Hairston. She was later joined by her six siblings and their spouses. The company secures authentic and original African art and artifacts from Tanzania, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, and Nigeria.
Pan African Imagery, Inc. was one of the first art galleries to create an awareness and appreciation of authentic and original African Art. This was done by exhibiting and selling through the High Point International Home Furnishings Market; the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce; the National Black Theater Festival, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; the Capital Jazz Festival, Washington, D.C.; Afram, Norfolk, Virginia; and the Black Business Expos in Atlanta, Georgia, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Richmond, Virginia and many other festivals, conventions, and special art shows.
Pan African Imagery, Inc. has been selected twice by the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce for special recognition awards, the 1994 Small Minority Business of the Year and the 1995 Business of the Year for the Business and Technology Center, a center for small businesses that is sponsored by the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce.
